MAZIE EVANS EDMUNDSON

FREMONT -- Mazie Evans Edmundson, 85, 5627 Hwy. 111 N., surrounded by her loving family, went to be with the Lord Saturday afternoon at her residence.

Funeral will be held today at 5 p.m. in Antioch Free Will Baptist Church, 1407 Antioch Church Road, Pikeville, N.C. 27863. Interment will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, 2925 U.S. Hwy. 117 S., Dudley, N.C. 28333. The Rev. Dale Belvin will officiate.

Mrs. Edmundson will lie in repose at Antioch Free Will Baptist Church from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., and the family will receive friends in the fellowship hall an hour prior to the funeral service and other times at the residence.

Surviving is her husband of 66 years, Walter Edmundson; a son and daughter-in-law, Maurice "Mo" H. and Pat Edmundson of Chapin, S.C.; and a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Edmundson and Gerald Ange of Wilmington; grandchildren, Lisa Spain of Fuquay-Varina, Kyle Edmundson of Cary and Todd Ange and Kevin Ange, both of Wilmington; and great-grandchildren, Anna Edmundson, Lucy Edmundson, Karson Ange and Wade Ange.

She was a native of the Faro Community of Wayne County and was born to the late Annie Minshew Evans and Marvin Evans. She was a graduate of 1940 class of Eureka High School. Mrs. Edmundson had been a very active member of Antioch Free Will Baptist Church, where she was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary. She also served as the secretary of the Sunday school and worked with the youths of the church for a number of years.
