RAY A. GRIMES

Ray Albert Grimes, 72, of 3236 Hwy. 117 North, died Tuesday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Ray was born in Wayne County to the late Lloyd Grimes and Sally Grady Grimes. He had worked with the Boy Scouts of America as a former scoutmaster. Ray was a member of the Woodmen of the World and the TPA. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Don Sauls officiating. Interment will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Ray is survived by his wife, Christene Forehand Grimes; his daughter, Christie Bullard and husband, Keith, of Goldsboro; his son, Todd Grimes and his wife, Christie, of Eureka; his sisters, Annie Jane Wall and husband, Kermit H., of Kenly and Peggy Aprahamian and husband, Mannie, of Rainer, Wash.; his grandchildren, Darrian Grimes, Devin Grimes and Faith Bullard; and his sisters-in-law, Bettie Jordan Grimes of Graham and Margaret Jordan Grimes of Pikeville.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lee Thomas Grimes and Jimmy Grimes.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Pikeville P.F.W.B. Church, P.O. Box 910, Pikeville, N.C. 27863.

The family will receive friends Thursday following the service and other times at his home.
