CHRISTINE 'TINY' LANE

Died Aug. 14, 2007

Christine "Tiny" T. Lane of 116 Neal Drive, in the Rosewood Community, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday night at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, surrounded by her family and friends. Tiny was a member of Rosewood Baptist Church. She was retired from O'Berry Center but continued to work at Woodard's Retirement until her health started to decline. Tiny was the widow of the late James "Jim" Lane and the daughter of the late Walter Scott Turnage and Lily Mae Turnage.

Tiny is survived by daughters, Bonnie Moody and husband, Ted, of Dudley, Judy Tillman of Rosewood and special friend, David Hayes, of Clayton; her sons, Logan Lane and special friend, Lisa Darden, of Rosewood and Jeffrey Lane and wife, Sam, of Rosewood; her brother, Carl Turnage of New Albany, Ind.; her sisters, Martha Harrison of Goldsboro, Helen Lane of Benbrook, Texas, Bonnie Shook and Yvonne Craven of McClenney, Fla.; special family friends, Diane Coker of Rosewood and JoAnn Williams of Kinston; her grandchildren, Alan Moody of Mount Olive, Jessica Hood and husband, Brandon, of Goldsboro, Lloyd and Jesse Tillman of Nahunta, Cody Tillman of Rosewood, Tina Hopper and husband, Jeff, of Goldsboro, Dale Best Jr. and wife, Lisa, of Kinston, Brandy Reardon and friend, Jesse Moore, of Goldsboro and Will Lane of Rosewood; and her great-grandchildren, Dwayne Strickland of Mount Olive, Dustin, Caitlin and Jadin Best of Kinston, Carlie Hopper of Goldsboro, Alex Johnson of Grantham, Christy Pierce of Kinston, Rusty Flowers of LaGrange and Jesse "Lil Buddy" Moore Jr. of Goldsboro.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tammy Best Flowers, seven brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Larry Bostian and the Rev. Vernon Braswell officiating. Visitation will follow the service. Graveside services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at other times at 116 Neal Drive in Rosewood.
