Marvin Garner

Chief Master Sgt. Marvin Scott Garner, Retired U.S. Air Force, 76, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Marvin was born in Duplin County to the late Sam B. Garner and Mattie Summerlin Garner. While serving in the U.S. Air Force, he managed the Officer's Club and later the NCO Club in England, Thailand and at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. Marvin was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Rose officiating. Burial with full military honors and Masonic Rites will be held at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Marie Quinn Garner; his brother, Leland Garner of Durham; and his sister-in-law, Clara Lee Garner of Scotts Store; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
