LaGRANGE -- Alease Smith Minshew, 78, of 108 Dana Drive, died Friday afternoon at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Alease was born in Greene County on May 29, 1929, to the late Joe Smith and Zola Worrell Smith. She was married to the late Earl Minshew. She was a homemaker. Alease was a member of Coker Memorial Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

Funeral will be Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Danny Freuler and McGee Smith officiating. Burial will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Eureka Cemetery.

Alease is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Ramona and Larry Barbour of LaGrange and Kay and Roger Smith of Goldsboro; her son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Debbie Minshew of Faro; her sisters, Margie Tyner, Dorothy Hollamon and Edna Davis, all of Goldsboro; her brothers, Kenneth Smith of Dudley and Durwood Smith of Goldsboro; seven grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Smith; her brother, Marvin Smith, her granddaughter, Shannon Minshew, and her grandson, Jessie Smith.

The family will receive friends Sunday following the funeral service and other times at her residence.
