BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- Brenda Hodges Royal, 54, formerly of Warsaw, died Tuesday in Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn. Mrs. Royal was born to the late Charles Hodges Jr. and Katie Miller Hodges of Warsaw, N.C. She was the widow of Charles Royal. Mrs. Royal received her education in New York and New Jersey. Her entire career was with Random House Publishing, Inc., New York, N.Y.
Memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 29 at 4 p.m. at Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel of Warsaw with Minister Elma M. Hodges and Deacon Thomas C. Hodges officiating.
Survivors include two children, Tawanna Royal of Hampton, Va. and Maurice Royal of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a granddaughter, Breanna Royal of Hampton Va.; one brother, Charles "Bro" "Chuck" of Warsaw, N.C.; two sisters, Macy Bell and husband, Ronnie, of Hampton, Va. and Linda A. Hodges of Hampton, Va.
The family will fellowship at the home of her late grandfather, Sam Miller on Sam Miller Road following the memorial service.
