BETTIE H. GODWIN

April 17, 1917-July 24, 2007

PRINCETON -- Bettie Lee Holland Godwin, age 90, died Tuesday morning in Britthaven of Goldsboro. Born in Johnston County, she was a daughter of the late Bennett and Martha Bass Holland and was the widow of Leamon Harris Godwin. She was preceded in death by two sons, Ernest "Bo" Godwin and Earl Godwin and a daughter, Peggy Faye Godwin. She was a member of The Church of God on Edwards Street in Princeton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Kelvin Adkins and the Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. The burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the cemetery at Fellowship United Methodist Church.

Surviving are her sons, Bill Godwin and Richard Godwin, both of Princeton; daughters, Betty Lou Sullivan of Princeton, Bonnie Sue Lancaster of Greenville, Joe Anne Best of Dudley and Rose Grimes of Pikeville; 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral service and at other times at the home of her son, Bill, 5566 Rains Crossroads Road, Princeton.
