JIMMIE N. FAISON

March 27, 1940-June 16, 2007

Jimmie "Crow" Newell Faison, born to the late Nellie June Faison and Dock Moore, passed away Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

He was educated in the Goldsboro City Schools and graduated from Dillard High School in 1958. He also matriculated at North Carolina A&T State Univer-sity in Greensboro.

Jimmie was chairman of the trustee board at St. Matthew A.M.E. Zion Church. He was also a retiree of Case Farms, Inc.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11 a.m. at St. James A.M.E. Zion Church on the corner of George and James Streets. A viewing will be held at McIntyre Funeral Home Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m. The family will receive friends at a walk-through viewing from 5 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. At other times the family will receive guests at 1012 N. Seaboard St., Goldsboro, N.C.

He is survived by one daughter, Amy Worrells; three sisters, Roberta and Dorothy Moore of Goldsboro and Rugene Evans and husband, Larry, of Durham, N.C.; seven very special cousins, Thelma Faison Smith, Willie Shirley, Walter Shirley, Katherine Flowers Reid and husband, Israel, of Goldsboro, James Faison III and wife, Mae, and Franklin Von Faison of Arcadia, Fla., and Anthony Gilchrist and wife, Vergie, of Charlotte, N.C.

Arrangements are being handled by McIntyre Funeral Home of Goldsboro.
