Thelma Mae Black, 78, died Friday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
She was born in West Virginia to the late Charles and Lola McQuain.
Two children survive.
A private service will be held.
The family is being served by Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
