MOUNT OLIVE -- Ashton Owen Jackson Sr., 82, of 3458 Old Mount Olive Highway, died Thursday morning at his home.
He was a farmer, a native of Sampson County, the son of the late Jasper and Maggie Darden Jackson, and brother of the late Odell Jackson, Jake Jackson, and Flossie Jackson King.
Funeral services officiated by the Rev. Bob Goodman will be this evening at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, with visitation following.
Committal and interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife, Fannie Britt Jackson; a son and daughter-in-law, A. Owen Jackson Jr. and Janet Beavers Jackson of Mount Olive; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Jackson and wife, Shannon Wells Jackson, and Laura Jackson Herring and husband, Jason Daniel Herring, along with three great-grandchildren, David and Jonathan Jackson, and Daniel Herring, all of Mount Olive.
