Catherine Kleinert Mills, 97, died Monday morning at her home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Mills was born in Greene County to the late Augustus Kleinert and Lou Ellen Smith Kleinert. She was married to the late Charles Street Mills. Mrs. Mills was the beloved mother of eight children and had worked at home as a housewife and farmer. She had a great love for gardening.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Frank Purvis and the Rev. Patrick Muston officiating. Interment will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

She is survived by her sons, Norwood Mills and wife, Thelma, of Goldsboro, Horace Mills of Goldsboro, Roy Mills and wife, Jean, of Goldsboro and Ralph Mills and wife, Shirley, of Goldsboro; her daughters, Lorraine Raynor of Goldsboro and Lois Mills of the home; 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Marvin Mills and Charles Mills.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of Ralph and Shirley Mills, 276 Mills Road, Goldsboro.
