Eddie Lee Merritt, 55, died Thursday at his home in Kenansville.
Funeral will be held from Byrd's Chapel Baptist Church, Rose Hill, on Sunday at 3 p.m. The Rev. James Faison will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Merritt Family Cemetery, Magnolia.
His survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Veronica Mims of Smithfield and Laticia and Marquis Woodland, all of Kansas City, Mo.; his mother, Ruth M. Carr of Kenansville; special daughter, Lashakema Small; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Elvis Tyrone Carr of Clinton, and Michael and Tammy Carr of Kenansville; one sister, Evelyn Newkirk of Kenansville; three grandchildren; three aunts; three uncles; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.
A visitation of family and friends was held on Saturday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 472 Wells Town Road, Rose Hill.
