POLLY J. MORRISON

May 26, 1928-May 28, 2007

PIKEVILLE -- Polly Jones Morrison, 79, of 804 Gurley Dairy Road, went to see her Heavenly home on Monday, May 28, 2007. She left us to be with her Lord and her family above. Polly left us with so many happy memories.

Polly was born in Wayne County to the late James Cephus Jones and Glendora West Jones. She retired as produce manager with Harris Teeter Grocery Store. Polly was a member of Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church.

Her last and most important day was her 79th birthday on Saturday. She shared this day with all her loved ones with a smile and "I love you" to all she loved. She will be missed dearly, but she is smiling down on us now. Her words to us would be, "I'm home now, take care of Ed and I love you!" The happy memories of Polly include the love of her life Ed; her daughter, Kim; and son-in-law, Bob. Polly especially loved cooking, fishing, her wonderful friends and her cats. Polly holds a special place in everyone's heart. Her sense of humor and her little snicker are memories that we will keep forever.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Chuck Owens officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Everett Morrison; her daughter, Kimlie Morrison Mitchell and husband, Robert, of Raleigh; her special sister, Kathryn Edgerton and husband, Ben, of Fremont; and her special nieces and nephews, Shirley Davis and husband, Ronnie, Mike Jones and wife, Lisa, Gail Newell and husband, Dale, Eugene Jones and wife, Beth, Annie Lou Edgerton, Jean Taylor, Katie Head, Lucille Whaley and Dee Fulghum and all her other family members. She dearly loved them all.

Polly was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Claxton C. Jones, Jimmy Jones, Hubert Davis, Mildred Ingram, Lillie Mae Perry, Sally Jackson, Penny Worrell, Nannie Smith, Albert Jones, George P. "G.P." Jones, Clarence Jones, Dick Jones and John Jones.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, 1080 Gurley Dairy Road, Pikeville, N.C. 27863.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home.
