PRINCETON -- Mr. Carl Pierce, 81, of 674-B Lassiter Road, Princeton died Saturday in his home.
Mr. Pierce was born in Wayne County to the late Marvin and Mary "Ebbie" Woodard Pierce. He was a member of Antioch Presbyterian Church and was a retired farmer and truck driver.
Funeral will be Monday at 6 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J. Lewis Baker officiating. Burial will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Pierce, Kenneth Coor, Neal Hines, Danny Howell, Glenn Pearce and George Rains.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Cole Pierce of 61 years; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Hal Pierce of Winterville and Danny and Sheree Pierce of Princeton; two grandchildren, Carla Pierce and Chris Pierce.
Mr. Pierce is also survived by his sister, Lura Hines of Goldsboro; his brother, Hoover Pierce of Princeton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Lynn Pierce; a granddaughter Dana Pierce; and a daughter-in-law Eldean Pierce.
The family will receive friends following the service Monday at the funeral home and at other times at the residence.
