HARRY L. ALDRIDGE

June 18, 1915-May 14, 2007

LAGRANGE -- Harry Linwood Aldridge, 91, of 4019 Fields Station Road, died Monday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital. Mr. Aldridge was born in Lenoir County to the late Nollie Dawson Aldridge Conner and George Thomas Aldridge. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Thelma Sugg Aldridge; three brothers, George Thomas Aldridge Jr., Shelton Aldridge and Thomas Andrew Aldridge; and two sisters, Kathleen Jarman and Hannah Aldridge. Mr. Aldridge graduated in 1934 from Wheat Swamp High School as valedictorian and was a member of LaGrange United Methodist Church. He was a retired building contractor who in earlier years farmed and worked as a carpenter.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at 7 p.m. from Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Karl Grant and the Rev. Jim Marshburn officiating. Inter-ment will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. from Fairview Cemetery.

Mr. Aldridge is survived by two daughters, Dot Suggs and husband, Leamon, of La-Grange, Jean Abbott and husband, Henry, of LaGrange; four grandchildren, Edd L. Suggs III and wife, Julie, of Goldsboro, Lisa Ann Mac-Queen and husband, Kevin, of Goldsboro, Cynthia Jean Freeman and husband, Matthew, of Red Oak, Michael Henry Abbott and wife, Donna, of Simpsonville, S.C.; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends following the service Tuesday evening and at other times they will be at the home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rousefh.com.
