KNIGHTDALE -- Wayne Johnson Pierce, 64, 307 Hester St., died Tuesday at Wake Medical Center. Wayne was born in Wilson County to the late Leon Earl Pierce and Retha Johnson Pierce. He worked as a welder for Mitchell Distributing Com-pany.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Faith Baptist Church, 2728 Marks Creek Road, Knightdale. Entombment will be at Gethsemane Memorial Gar-dens Mausoleum.
He is survived by his wife, Ida Marie Pierce; daughters, Teresa Carter of Goldsboro, Gloria Puryear and husband, Bradford, of Knightdale, Nora Kimball and husband, Charles, of Raleigh; son, Dwayne Johnson Pierce and wife, Gail, of Raleigh; grandchildren, Wayne Johnson Pierce II, Codey Turnage, David Carter, Daniel Carter, Joey Smith, Dink Jones and wife, Sharon, Vanessa Price; great-grandchildren, Michael Jones, Jordan Jones, Vaiden Kimball, David Price, Emily Moreland; brothers, James Pierce of Goldsboro, Donny Pierce of Goldsboro, Jackie Pierce of Wilson, Thomas Pierce of Morrisville.
Family will receive relatives and friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service and Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, N.C. 27545 and other times at the home, 307 Hester Street, Knightdale, N.C. 27545.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The SPCA of Wake County - Pet Adoption Division, 200 Pet Finder Lane, Raleigh, N.C. 27603 or to Faith Baptist Church, 2728 Marks Creek Road, Knightdale, N.C. 27545.
