WILMA R. SOUTHERLAND

Wilma Hagen Richter Southerland, 85, died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Southerland was born in Cumberland, Wis., to the late Theodore Hagen and Olive LeJeune Hagen. She was married to the late Martin B. Richter and Frank H. Southerland. Mrs. Souther-land had been a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church for over 60 years and had served on the Church Guild and was a member of the Golden Agers. She had volunteered in Goldsboro at the Community Soup Kitchen and enjoyed the Wayne County Senior Olympics.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Tom Norris, O.S.F.S. officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery.

Mrs. Southerland is survived by her children, James M. Richter and wife, Linda, of Goldsboro, Evelyn R. Paul and husband, Cleve, of Goldsboro, Carol R. Bass of Nashville, Charles A. Richter and wife, Ruth, of Fayetteville, Robert J. Richter and wife, Debbie, of Goldsboro, Marian R. Mears and husband, Lee, of Rocky Mount, Michael P. Richter and wife, Jane, of Goldsboro and Jacquelyn R. Bunn and husband, Philip, of Kill Devil Hills; 22 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Leonard and Ivan Hagen.

In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica Bass.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 1000 N. Jefferson Ave., Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of Bobby and Debbie Richter, 611 Beech St., Goldsboro.
