BERTA P. MADELEY

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. -- Berta Parks Madeley, 84, died Saturday after a long illness at her daughter's home in Southern Pines, N.C.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Goldsboro, with the Rev. Gene Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery.
Mrs. Madelely was a 1939 graduate of Goldsboro High School. She attended Anderson College in Anderson, S.C. She was a federal employee for 20 years working at the U.S. Corps of Engineers in Wilmington, eventually retiring from federal service in Charleston, S.C.
She is survived by her children, Claudia Madeley of Southern Pines, Arthur Lee Madeley Jr., and Patricia Jean Madeley, both of Mount Pleasant, S.C.
Arrangements are by Boles Funeral Home of Southern Pines.
