RALEIGH -- Ruth Wells Gardner died Wednesday. She was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Dale Barnes.
Funeral services will be 7:30 p.m. today at Hilltop Free Will Baptist Church, Highway 401 South. Entombment will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday at Montlawn Memorial Park.
She is survived by a daughter, Eva Gail Newton; sister, Maggie W. Toler; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends 6-7:30 p.m. tonight at the church prior to the service.
