HAVELOCK -- Rosa Gray Smith, 82, died Monday at Craven Regional Medical Center. She was a member of the Newport River Primitive Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Marcellus "Sill" Smith; brothers, Joe and Mason Gray; and a sister, Ann Roper.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Pollock-Best Funeral Chapel with interment following at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters, Glenda Marcell Strunk and husband, Charles, of Havelock, Helen Chase and husband, Howard, of Snow Hill; sisters, Mildred Kavka of Ontario, Canada, Hazel Oliver of Havelock, Mary Taylor and Frances Carter, both of Hubert, Ruby Daniels of Goldsboro, Ruth Clark of Newport; grandchildren, Carrie Strunk Finney and husband, Gaylan, Stacey Chase and wife, Misty, and Tracey Chase Wolfe and husband, Brian; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Ashleigh and Brianne Chase, Charles, Micheal and Cera Finney.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. tonight at Pollock-Best Funeral Home.
