CARRIE G. EXUM

Carrie Gibbs Exum, 78, 508 E. Bunch Drive, died Monday at University Hospital in Charlotte.
She was the daughter of the late Elijah and Omelia Richardson Gibbs and was preceded in death by two brothers, Leon and Leslie and a sister, Fleeta. Mrs. Exum graduated from Pikeville Training School and was a long-time member of St. Joseph Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be noon Saturday at St. Joseph Free Will Baptist Church, 280 Claridge Nursery Road, with pastor Leslie Capers officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park North.
She is survived by her husband, James Exum of the home; sons, Jimmy, Larry, Michael and Rickey; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the home of Tony and Gloria Dillehay, 513 Bunch Drive, and also one hour prior to the funeral at the church. The family will meet to prepare for the processional at 513 Bunch Drive Saturday at 10:15 a.m.
