PINE LEVEL -- Lorraine Worley Radford Cooper, age 88, died Friday evening at her home. Born January 7, 1919 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late Alkie Leamon and Lillie Mae Edwards Worley and was preceded in death by two husbands, J. D. "Mutt" Radford and T. Clyde Cooper. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, J. B. Worley and Elton Worley; sister, Gerri W. Scott; niece, Jill Worley; and a great-nephew, James Kyle Bullock.

In 1998, following the death of her second husband and to be closer to her family, she returned to Johnston County where she joined the Pine Level United Methodist Church and served in numerous capacities. She also rejoined the Selma Women's Club where she served in the area of public affairs. Through this club she won numerous ribbons for her crewel, latch-hook and fabric painting and judged middle school artwork locally. Behind her love of family, her love of plants, traveling, bridge and fishing kept her calendar full.

She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, aunt and Lolo.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with the Rev. Joseph Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in the Princeton Cemetery.

Surviving are her daughter, Melody L. Radford of Princeton, sister-in-law, Shirley B. Worley of Princeton, nieces and nephews, Margaret W. Bullock and husband, Jimmy, Bryant Worley and wife, Debbie E., Larry Worley and wife, Debbie M., all of Princeton; great-nieces and nephews, Brooke W. Norris and husband, Kelvin, Carmen W. Thomas and husband, Ben, Megan W. Bullock, all of Princeton, Candice W. Allison and husband, Gerrad, of Angier, and Matthew R. Little of Buies Creek; and great-great-nieces and nephews, Kyle and Tyler Norris, Oliver Thomas, Olivia Norris, all of Princeton, and Macie Allison of Angier.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
