Died April 8, 2007

MOUNT OLIVE -- C.H. Odom, 80, died Sunday. He was son of the late James and Iona Honeycutt Odom and widower of the late Inez Holloman Odom. He was a retired heavy duty equipment operator with the N.C. Department of Transportation.

Graveside funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

He is survived by a son, Glenn Odom and wife, Tammy, of Mount Olive; daughters, Patricia O. Creel of Swansboro, Joy Lancaster and husband, John, of China Grove, and Lisa Kelly and husband, Anthony, of Mount Olive; brother, Lasky Odom and wife, Wilma, of Mount Olive; sister, Ethel Blackman and husband, Kenneth, of Delaware; grandchild, Eric Creel of Swansboro; great-grandchildren, Emily and Tyler Kelly, Ryan Narron and Candice Lancaster; special friends, Gene and Susie Sasser; special feline friend, "Joe."

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Garland Odom; sisters, Emma Bowles and Nadine Farrow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the "Take a Kid Fishing" Foundation, c/o Teresa Holcombe, P.O. Box 1107, Morehead City, N.C. 28557, or to Northeast Free Will Baptist Church, Mount Olive.

Family will receive friends at the home at 308 Tadlock Road, Mount Olive.

Arrangements are with Tyndall Funeral Home.
