Elmo Long, 84, of 210 Commonsgate Drive, died Tuesday at his home.

Mr. Long was born in Heavener, Okla., to the late Elmer E. Long and Beulah Terry Long Semore. He was a retired hatchery manager with Goldsboro Milling Company. Mr. Long was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Tom Norris, O.S.F.S. presiding. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park with military honors.

Mr. Long is survived by his wife, Frances Tavzelj Long; his children, Judy Hurst and husband, Layne, Suzi Matsuoko and husband, John, Prissy England and husband, Danny, Cindy Monaco and husband, Larry, Joey Long and wife, Lori, Terrie Beeson and husband, Conrad, Alice Farrar and husband, Ellory, and Matthew Long and wife, Francine; 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Linda, and his brother, John.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 1000 N. Jefferson St., Goldsboro, N.C. 27534 or the charity of one's choice.

Pallbearers will be his sons-in-law and honorary pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus.

A wake will be Monday at 6:30 p.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church and the family will remain at the church following this service to greet friends and family.

Arrangements are with Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
