CARL F. CORBETT

June 3, 1932 - April 1, 2007

Carl Franklin Corbett, 74, 474 Airport Road, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Corbett was born in Wayne County to the late Carl Freeman "Cotton" and Emma Wells Corbett. He was a retired farmer and owner of Corbett's Welding in the Pikeville Community.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Hollowell, the Rev. Jerry Andrews and the Rev. Travis Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Lancaster Corbett; daughter, Paulette Medlin and husband, Charles, of Pikeville; son, Frankie Corbett and wife, Charlette, of Pikeville; sisters, Phyllis Peal of Conway, S.C. and Florence Browder of Kinston; brother, Ricky Corbett of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Michelle Barnes and husband, Mike, Joy Glover and husband, Brian, Chuck Medlin and Matthew Corbett; great-grandchildren, Bradley and Taylor Glover, Austin and Daniel Barnes and three step-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Corbett.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 10, Pikeville, N.C. 27863.

Family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.
