JANICE MOORE KORNEGAY

Died March 25, 2007

Janice Moore Kornegay, 70, 1586 White Flash Road, died Sunday at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation for Mount Olive.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Rodger Allen Moore and Saul Ephrain "Hoosie" Moore Jr. She retired from teaching after 30 years at B. F. Grady School. She was a member of Woodland United Methodist Church, the NCAE, the NEA and the Retired Teachers Association.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Pink Hill Funeral Home. The Revs. Vernon Brown and Lynwood Boyette and Argie Neal Wilcox will officiate.

Burial will be at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

She is survived by her husband, Rodney Z. Kornegay, of the home; a daughter, Mary Ann Beck of Mount Olive; a son, Zollie Kornegay and wife, Pat Hudson, of Mount Olive; three sisters, Betty Jean Johnson and husband, William Earl, of Kinston, Ida Moore of Stanunton, Va., Weda Austin and husband, Maynard, of Blackstone, Va; and three grandchildren, Matthew Gray Kornegay and friend, Carie Whorten, Kayla Kornegay and Kelly Kornegay.

The family would like to express a special thanks to all of the doctors and staff of SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation for Mount Olive.

Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. today at Pink Hill Funeral Home.
