MARGIE N. WILLIAMS

Died March 18, 2007

WINTERVILLE -- Margie Nobles Williams, 82, died Sunday, March 18, 2007, in Pitt County Memorial Hospital.

A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Homestead Memorial Gardens, Greenville, by the Rev. Ron Braxton and the Rev. Blane Smith.

Mrs. Williams, a native of Pitt County, lived her early life in the Winterville community and was a graduate of Winterville High School. She made her home in Pennsville, N.J., for more than 35 years and returned to Winterville in 1983. She was a member of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents, Elias and Allie Barnhill Nobles; brother, Jasper Nobles; sister, Effie Hathaway; and an infant twin daughter, Carol Lee Williams.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Raymond C. Williams; daughters, Patsy Ann Williams Proud and husband, Gary, of New Castle, Del., and Barbara Jean Williams Beaman and husband, Rusty, of Dudley, N.C.; grandsons, David Vanderslice Jr. and wife, Deanna, of Newark, Del., and Daniel Vanderslice and wife, Kim, of New Castle, Del.; great-grandchildren, Micheala Vander-slice, Connor Vanderslice and Lindsey Vanderslice; brothers, Jamie Nobles and wife, Fannie, of Winterville, Harold Nobles and wife, Peggy, of Ayden, and William Nobles of Greenville; and a number of special nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home.

The family would like to express their special appreciation to the staff in the Focus Care Center at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
