DWIGHT E. BOTTOMS

Dwight Edgar Bottoms, 70, 213 Glenwood Trail, died Sunday at his home.
Mr. Bottoms was born in Surry County to the late Willie E. and Hattie Poindexter Bottoms. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years as an air traffic controller, was a graduate of Wesleyan College and a member of Fairview United Methodist Church.
Memorial services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Fairview United Methodist Church in Pinnacle. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Lena G. Bottoms; children, Michael D. Bottoms and wife, Natasha, of Brandon, Fla., Sandra B. Clover and husband, Dan, of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Steven L. Bottoms of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren, Rebecca and Jaqueline Clover and Ethan Bottoms; sisters, Lurlene Butcher and husband, Hubert, Nancy McRoberts and husband, Irvin, and Layne White and husband, Ray, all of Pinnacle; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Myra Duane Cuff.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, N.C. 27834.
Family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Nancy McRoberts.
Arrangements are with Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
