HUE FREDRICK PADGETT

Hue Fredrick Padgett, 85, of 726 Rosewood Road, formerly of Fuquay-Varina, died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.

Funeral services will be held tonight at 6 in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro. The Rev. C. Paul Jones will officiate. A graveside service will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Fuquay-Varina with military honors.

Mr. Padgett was born in Lenoir County to the late Benjamin Barney Padgett and Mamie Viora Phillips Padgett. He was a former member of Piney Grove Baptist Church in Fuquay-Varina and a current member of Rosewood First Baptist Church. Mr. Padgett was also a World War II veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife, Belle C. Padgett; two daughters, Susan P. Walls and her husband, Bobby, of Rosewood and Terri P. Massey and her husband, Larry, of Fuquay-Varina; one sister, Gaynelle Ashe and her husband, Raymond, of Loganville, Ga.; two grandchildren, Jason Walls and Julie Walls Jones and her husband, Wesley.

The family will receive friends following the funeral service this evening at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro and other times at the residence.

Although flowers are welcome, memorial contributions may be directed to the Eastern Alzheimer's Association, 400 Oberlin Road, Suite 220, Raleigh, N.C. 27605-1351.
