GERTRUDE N. HUDSON

LAGRANGE -- Gertrude Newsome Hudson, 84, 1431 New Hope Road, died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was born in Wayne County to the late Jack R. and Emma Eliza Walters Newsome.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Charles Kirkland officiating.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Hudson; daughter, Patricia "Patsy" Billington and husband, James, of Wisconsin; son, John Keith Hudson of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Don Randel Hudson, Jimmie Ray Hudson, Shelley Billington, Wesley Billington, Johnny Hudson, Ashley Hibbard, Rebecca Marie Hudson, Thomas Hudson, Timothy Hudson, Zachery Hudson; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Adine Kearney of Goldsboro, Eliza Hollingsworth of Hot Springs, Ark., and Janice Swindeler of Chillicothe, Ohio; sister-in-law, Alma Newsome of Goldsboro; brother-in-law, Duane Thackeray of Goldsboro; her special caregiver, Janice Hudson; and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Tommy D. and Don Randal Hudson; sisters, Nora Elizabeth Newsome Thack-eray and Bernice Salisbury; and brothers, Woodrow, Noah, and D.N. Newsome.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Seymour Funeral Home.
