Services for Thomas Battle Jr. will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Lightner Memorial Funeral Chapel, 601 E. Ash St., with pastor Ray Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline D. Battle of the home; daughters, Annie, Erica, Jeanette, Bertha, and Daphene Battle, all of Goldsboro, Johnice Bryant, Thomasena Thompson, Thelma Mewborn, all of Goldsboro; sons, Kenneth Dixon, Thomas and Charles Battle, all of Goldsboro; sisters, Ruby Outlaw, Diane Bynum, Maggie Monk, Edna Whitfield, Teresa Faison and Sherry Lee, all of Goldsboro, Shirley Williams of New York, Joyce Crawford and Wilimina Malone, both of Washington D.C., and Clarisa Crawford of Maryland; brothers, Willie and Jerry Crawford and Emanuel Battle, all of Goldsboro; 23 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at 1713 S. Slocumb St. Viewing will be today from 2 to 8 p.m. at Lightner Memorial Funeral Home.
