IDA H. MATTHEWS

Died March 7, 2007

FAISON -- Ida Hollingsworth Matthews, 92, 731 Solomom St., died Wednesday, at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation for Mount Olive.

She was a native of Sampson County, was the daughter of the late Fred and Ada Barnett Hollingsworth and was the widow of Lloyd Forest Matthews. Mrs. Matthews was a retired textile manager and a member of Faison United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at Faison United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Kirkland officiating. Interment will follow at Faison Cemetery.

She is survived by a son, Donald R. Matthews and wife, Ann, of Faison; brothers, Deems Hollingsworth of Grantham and Morton Hollingsworth of Richmond, Va.; sister, Mildred Matthews of Mount Olive; grandchildren, Glenn Matthews and wife, Susan, Eddie Matthews and wife, Ollie, Susan Matthews Pearce and husband, Alan, David Matthews and wife, Lynda; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, prior to the service, at Faison United Methodist Church and other times at the home of Donald Matthews, 737 Solomom St., Faison.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Faison United Methodist Church, 404 S. West Center St., Faison, N.C. 28341.
