CHESTER E. ANDREWS

DUDLEY -- Chester Evander Andrews, 73, 165 Pine Tree Lane, died Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Born in Duplin County, he was the son the late Roland and Margaret Barwick Andrews. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church. Prior to his retirement he was a mechanic with Andy Andrews Nissan Dealership in Goldsboro for 18 years.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Sasser and the Rev. Vernon Braswell officiating. Burial will follow in Emmaus Baptist Church Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn W. Andrews; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Mike Evanko of Cumberland, Va., and Debbie and Mark Collins, Clearmont, Fla.; brothers, Cecil Andrews of Glen Allen, Va., Norman and Bud Andrews, both of New Bern; sisters, Joyce Andrews of LaGrange, Peggy DeBerry of New Bern and Louise Toler of Vanceboro; grandchildren, Heather Fisk and husband, Mike, and David Collins; great-grandsons, J.J. and Zackary Fisk.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David Glenn Andrews; brother, J.R. Andrews; sister, Rebecca Jones.

Family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
