MARY E.D. KIDD

Mary Elizabeth "Betty" D. Kidd, of Charlotte, died Thursday. She was born in Goldsboro to the late Mary Daly Cahoon and Jackson Isaac Daniels.
After graduating from Goldsboro High School, Mrs. Kidd received her nursing degree from Mercy School of Nursing in Charlotte, with an associate degree from Sacred Heart College in Belmont, N.C. She was a head nurse for many years at Mercy Hospital, after which she worked in home health until she retired to take care of her husband.
Mrs. Kidd is survived by her husband, Dr. Ralph V. Kidd; daughter, Catherine Lee Cartledge; granddaughter, Elsa Hasenzahl; grandsons, Jeremiah, Alex, and Julian Hasenzahl, all of Charlotte; sisters, Lynda Hill and husband Robert of Goldsboro, Nelda Ogilvie and husband Larry of Fayeville; sisters-in-law, Jane Grist and husband William T. of Charlotte, Ellen Palmer and husband Jack of Asheville; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Harry and Bryant Company, Chapel in the Oaks, 500 Providence Road in Charlotte. The family will receive friends following the service.
