Died Feb. 20, 2007

Fletcher Carmichael, 40, 117 Hines Drive, died Tuesday at Wilson Medical Center, Wilson.

A native of Wayne County, he graduated Goldsboro High School in 1984 and went further to receive a bachelor's degree from Barton College in 2001. He also got a master's degree from Strayer College in 2004.

Mr. Carmichael was employed with the Goldsboro Police Department, and was a social worker with Community Care and Hospice, and an emergency technician paramedic with Johnston Ambulance Service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Duncan and Artense Carmichael.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at McIntyre Funeral Home Chapel with Apostle Lester Coward officiating. Burial will be in Old Mill Cemetery.

Mr. Carmichael is survived by his wife, Felecia Austin of Dudley; a son, Fletcher E. Carmichael Jr.; two daughters, Millicent Kornegay of Goldsboro, and Jessica Carmichael of Dudley; two brothers, Marion S. Carmichael of the home, and Peanut; maternal grandmother, Bessie Carmichael of the home.

Viewing will be Sunday from 2 until 6 p.m. at the McIntyre Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the residence.
