Rayford Walker, 82, 938 E. New Hope Road, died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital. He was born in Wayne County to the late Bunn and Effie Smith Walker and was married to the late Bernice Jones Walker. A member of New Hope Church of God, he was retired from Barry of Goldsboro.

Funeral service will be Thursday at 7 p.m. at Goldsboro Worship Center. The Revs. Harold Anderson and Elbert Reeves will be officiating. Graveside services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, William Ray and Kathy Walker of Goldsboro, Eugene and Peggy Grady Walker of Goldsboro and Terry Walker and fiancée, Betty Jo Turnage, of Saulston; one daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Larry Mattey of Hood Swamp; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will be receiving friends immediately following the funeral service tonight at Goldsboro Worship Center and at other times at the home.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to New Hope Church of God Building Fund.
