DEEP RUN -- Patti Brown Johnson, 51, 2476 Quail Lane, went to be with her Savior and her four-legged friends on Friday, February 16, 2007. She was a teacher in Human Resources at Lenoir Community College, and active with animal rescue and maintained her own animal shelter. She loved music and her four legged friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Parrish; her grandfather, Gordon Souther-land; her mamie, Nancy Murphy; her niece, Tee Kearney; and many four-legged friends.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening, February 21, 2007 from the chapel of Garner Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Kincaid officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday morning at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Survivors include her husband, Jackie W. Johnson of the home; her mother, Lena S. Wagner and grandmother, Julia K. Southerland, both of Kinston; her daughters, Jennifer L. Johnson and Wesley Cannon of Kinston and Jourdan R. Johnson of Greenville; her son, Jasper David of LaGrange; her sister, Paula B. Kearney of Kinston; and her mother and father-in-law, Rosetta and John T. Johnson of Kinston.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service on Wednesday evening at the funeral home and other times at her mother's, 1506 West Washington Ave., and at her mother and father-in-law's, 152 Goodman Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lenoir County SPCA, P.O. Box 1481, Kinston, NC 28503.
