Julia Mae Whitfield Bailey, 81, 2302 Koonce St., died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Willa Gibbs Whitfield; her husband, Eugene J. Bailey; two brothers, Henry Whitfield and Samuel L. Cox; sister, Hilda G. Gray; granddaughter, Erica S. Lewis.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at New Spirit Church Ministry, 1501 N. William St., with Bishop Jesse Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery, Goldsboro.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Davis and a brother, Roosevelt Whitfield.
Viewing will be Friday at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, Goldsboro, from 1 to 7 p.m. with the family present to receive family and friends at the wake from 6 to 7 p.m.
