JIMMY D. HOWARD

LUCAMA -- Jimmy Dale Howard, 61, 7328 Fate Road, died Tuesday at Wilson Medical Center, Wilson.

Funeral services will be tonight at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, Fremont. Graveside service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery, Fremont.

Mr. Howard was born in Wilson County. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Army where he received many decorations including the National Defense Medal, 2 O/S Bars, the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device 1960, Expert (M-14), Expert (M-16), Army Commendation Medial and the Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Howard was a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy Goff Howard; mother, Edna Evans Howard of Wilson; sister, Joyce Hooks and her husband, John, of Pinkney; two brothers, Jerry Howard and his wife, Janice, and Greg Howard and his wife, Kim, all of Lucama; and two special nephews, Dillan and Ethan Howard.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Franklin "Dink" Howard.

The family will receive friends following the funeral service tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
