Bernice Joyner Taylor, 88, 104 Oak Knoll Drive, died Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice. She was the daughter of the late John Oscar and Ida Joyner Best and the widow of the late Jamie Lee Taylor. She was the co-owner of Taylor's Grocery and Taylor's Bait and Tackle Shop.

Funeral services will be today at 7 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with the Revs. J. Lewis Baker, David Kriger, and Aubrey Williamson officiating. Burial will follow Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the service and at other times at the home at 104 Oak Knoll Drive.

She is survived by a daughter, Barbara T. Riddle and husband, Charles, of Goldsboro; son, James Allen Taylor and wife, Frankie, of Dudley; brother, Ray Best and wife, Ann, of Dudley; grandchildren, Louise. R. Kriger and husband, the Rev. David Kriger, Carla R. Williamson and husband, the Rev. Aubrey Williamson, Teresa R. Holloman, James Allen Taylor Jr. and wife, Linda, and Jerry Wade Taylor and wife, Gina; and great-grandchildren, Joshua, Adam and wife, Renee, and Noah Kriger, Charles, Bryan, and Phillip Williamson, and Lee, Nicole, Emily, and Jeremy Taylor.

Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Hand-
ley Place., Goldsboro, 27530.
