MSGT. VINCENT C. WRIGHT

May 14, 1963-Feb. 5, 2007

PIKEVILLE -- On February 5, 2007, MSGT Vincent C. Wright broke free of his earthly bonds and soared to be with his Heavenly Father.

He was born in Philadelphia to Della Wright and the late Louis A. Wright. He attended Ellenville High School (1981). He joined the Air Force right after high school. His first assignment was to Seymour Johnson AFB in Goldsboro, N.C. right from training. He traveled to Bitburg, Germany for two and half years, and when the team asked where they would like to go from there, he automatically said back to Seymour Johnson. The family returned and has lived here for 12 years.

Vinny was an avid bowler, bowling on leagues at Planet Bowl on SJAFB and Rainbow Lanes in Clayton and a much loved bowling coach at SJAFB Planet Bowl and AMF Lanes in Goldsboro. He was even able to bowl in the PBA pro-am tournament twice which always seemed to have been the highlight of the years for him. Everyone just about in any bowling center across North Carolina knew him or of him.

He is survived by his wife, Angela L. Wright; his daughters, Jenny Montgomery of Warner Robins, Ga., Kristina and Angele Wright of the home; a granddaughter, McKenna Hendrix of Warner Robins; his parents, Della Wright of Ellenville, N.Y., and Nelson and Harriett Bass of Hampton, Va.; his Comadre and Copadre, Sue and Steve Custis of Clayton, N.J.; three sisters, Andrea Wright of Goldsboro, Carolyn Malloy and Mary Bass, both of Hampton, Va.; two brothers, Mark Wright of Goldsboro and Eulace Malloy of Hampton, Va.; four nephews, Christopher Malloy of Hampton, Va., Jaylen and Darius Wright of Goldsboro, Jake Custis of Clayton, N.J.; five nieces, Emillia Benyard of Hampton, Va., Shanay and Diandra Wright, Brianna Wilson, all of Goldsboro and Valarie Custis of Clayton, N.J., as well as a host of friends here and around the world.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Chapel with Chaplin Humphrey officiating. Burial with full military honors will be held at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

A viewing will be Friday, February 9, 2007 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A viewing will also be at the base chapel Saturday, February 10, 2007 from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m.
