KANNAPOLIS -- Beulah Mae Pate passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, February 7th at Big Elm Nursing Center in Kannapolis, N.C. Formerly of both Mount Olive and Goldsboro, Miss Pate was born September 20, 1910 in Duplin County to Ophelia Meyers and William David Pate. She was the last survivor of eight siblings. Having lived her entire life with her sister, Dessie Pate Creel, Miss Pate never married but played a critical role in the lives of her nieces and nephew, Ronnie, Cindi and Donna Creel.

Her career as a seamstress with Belks spanned nearly 40 years. Even after her retirement, she continued her passion for sewing by working out of her home for clientele that traveled from miles around.

The family will have visitation on Thursday, February 8 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, Mount Olive, with funeral services being held in the Tyndall Funeral Home Chapel on Friday at 2 p.m. folloiwed by burial at Mount Olive Cemetary.
