WILSON -- Hazel Whitfield Snipes Evans, 77, died Thursday. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Joyner's Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.
She is survived by her husband, Willie Earl Evans; two daughters, Carolyn S. Overman and husband, Richard, and Arlene S. Peacock and husband, Tim, all of Princeton; two sisters, Betty Jean Rollins and husband, Jack, of Raleigh, and Susie Sauls and husband, Julian, of Goldsboro; three brothers, Norwood Whitfield and wife, Gladys, of Wilson, Carlton Whitfield and wife, Sylvia, of Princeton, and Bobby Whitfield and wife, Sue, of Smithfield; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William J. and Betty Pittman Whitfield.
The family will receive friends 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway.
