HAZEL H. ROEBUCK

SNOW HILL -- Mrs. Hazel Ham Roebuck, 76, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 21, 2007 at Lenoir Memorial Hospital. A native of Greene County, she was born September 4, 1930, the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Ham and Ethel Vaughan Ham. Mrs. Roebuck resided in the Shine community her entire life moving only once, from the Ham homeplace to the home that she and husband built adjacently. Mrs. Roebuck was a member of Fort Run Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church where she attended all of her life and joined at the age of 19. She be remembered for her quiet manner and devotion to her Lord and family.

Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, at Fort Run PFWB Church with the Reverend Larry Turlington officiating. Committal services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, January 25, at the Snow Hill Cemetery.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Eugene Roebuck on March 2, 1999, and siblings, L.B. Ham, Genevieve Laughinghouse, Jimmy Ham and Roland Ham.

Mrs. Roebuck is survived by her daughter, Sharon Roebuck Carter; granddaughter, Lindsey Carter Brown and husband, Venice; great-grandson, Dustin Lee Brown; and her sister-in-laws, Lila Mae Hill Ham and Barbara Hart Ham, all who reside in Snow Hill; and several nieces and nephews of the Ham and Roebuck families.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service on Wednesday and other times at the home of Sharon R. Carter, 173 Shine Road, Snow Hill, NC. Arrangements by Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service.
