ALMA W. ANDERSON

MOUNT OLIVE -- Alma Whaley Anderson, 88, died Saturday. She was a former resident of North Church Street and in recent years had been a resident of Glen Care Retirement Home, Mount Olive.

Born in Duplin County, Mrs. Anderson was the daughter of the late Mack J. and Jeanette Thomas Whaley. She was the widow of Norman A. Anderson and mother of the late Norman A. Anderson Jr. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Milton and Ardell Whaley.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Mount Olive, where she was a member, with Dr. Dennis Atwood officiating. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Mount Olive. Visitation will be at the church for one hour prior to the service.

She is survived by a sister, Christine Whaley Williams of Pink Hill; a very special daughter-in-law, Josephine Waters Anderson McKee of Goldsboro; along with several nieces and nephews.
