FREMONT -- Pattie Whitley Mozingo, 89, 2686 Highway 222 East, died Thursday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Goldsboro.

Graveside service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Eureka Cemetery. The Rev. James Medlin and the Rev. Clyde Johnson will officiate.

Mrs. Mozingo was born in Wayne County to the late Kinchen and Millie Webb Varnell. She was a member of Mount Nelson Baptist Church in Eureka.

She is survived by two sons, Johnny Whitley and his wife, Kay, of LaGrange and Kenneth Whitley and his wife, Carol, of Castle Hayne; two daughters, Agnes Bartlett and her husband, Roy, of Eureka and Wilma Seabrook of Pikeville; six grandchildren, Ken and Helen Whitley, Terry Whitley, Shonna and Tim Tompkins, Chris Bartlett, Kim Seabrooke and Johnathan Whitley; and six great-grandchildren, Kevin Whitley, Justin Whitley, Austin Whitley, Anna Tompkins, Jesse Tompkins and Gavin Nagel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Johnathan Whitley and Albert Mozingo; one son, William Whitley; two brothers, Bolton and Jim Varnell; and seven sisters, Mittie Gardner, Mary McKeel, Hattie Goff, Lucy Yelverton, Nina Scott, Estelle Benton and Maybelle Mooring.

The family will receive friends following the graveside service on Saturday.

Although flowers are welcome, memorial contributions may be directed to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, 27533.
