LUCAMA -- Mary Katherine Lamm, 36, of Lucama, died December 10, 2006. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lucama United Methodist Church, South Main St., Lucama. Burial will follow in the Lamm Family Cemetery, 5346 Radford Road, Lucama. The Rev. Sharon E. Sherrod will officiate.

She will be missed by all her family, especially her daddy with whom she had a special bond. She loved the family farm and enjoyed taking long walks through the woods. She had a tremendous heart for all living creatures, especially cats and dogs. She rescued many animals over the years, including four newborn kittens after the mother cat died.

She was extremely bright and creative with special talents in singing, playing guitar, art, and writing music and poetry. She also enjoyed spending time with her best friend of 20+ years, Cindy Wilson.

Ms. Lamm is survived by her parents, Ivey A. Lamm Jr. and Vivian Johnson Lamm of Lucama; a sister, Elizabeth Lamm Evans and husband, Scott; maternal grandmother, Hazel Byrd Johnson; a niece, Savannah Evans and a nephew, Matthew Evans all of Raleigh.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Edwin Hugh Johnson, a life long citizen of the Hopewell-Pisgah Community, Smith-field.

Mary Katherine's mother works with the Wayne County Public Schools. She is presently a media coordinator at Northwest Elementary School, but has had various positions in her 37 years of service.

The family will receive friends Saturday at the church following the service and at other times the family will be at 5346 Radford Road, Lucama.
