VINELAND, N.J. -- Thurman Parker Jr., son of the late Thurman and Inez Parker Sr., died Tuesday, Jan. 9, at S. Jersey Healthcare RMC, Vineland.

He was born in Goldsboro and has been a resident of Vineland since 1976. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he served in the Army Airborne Rangers, was a member of the American Legion and honorary member of the Thunder Guards of Delaware.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Union Baptist Temple, Bridgeton, with pastor Albert L. Morgan officiating. Interment will be in the B.G. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery. There will be a viewing at the church Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m.

Mr. Parker is survived by his wife, Brenda Kenion Parker; four sons, Scott, Charles, Wayne T. Parker and Thurman Parker III; three brothers, Clarence and Wayne S. Parker and Bobby Jones; three sisters, Ethel Wooten, Linda Hill, Mederian Parker; nine grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Conswella U. and a brother, Leonard Jones.
