John Wayne Redfern, 38, 114 Melodie Lane, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital. He was born to John H. Redfern and the late Mattie M. Kornegay.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Mark Church of Christ, 700 W. Ash St., with Bishop Alton A. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of the home, Alesia S. Redfern; two daughters, Sa'Coya Cox and Tiffaney Scarboro, both of Goldsboro; one son, Tirrell Cox of Raleigh; father, John Redfern of Goldsboro; stepmother, Mary Redfern of Goldsboro; and a brother, Larry King of Grantham.
Wake will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, Goldsboro, with the family present to receive family and friends.
