R. BRUCE BEAVERS

MOUNT OLIVE -- Ray Bruce Beavers, 80, 343 Garner's Chapel Church Road, died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Funeral service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Tyndall Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Rose and the Rev. Clark Barfield officiating. Committal and burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Wayne Memorial Park.

He was a retired tobacco inspector with the U. S. Dept. of Agriculture; member of American Legion Post 103 where he was past commander; member of Rones Chapel United Methodist Church; owner of Beavers Golf Cart Sales and a veteran of WW II, serving in the Navy.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Alice G. Beavers of the home; two sons, Keith Beavers and wife, Glenda, and Roy Beavers and wife, Rose, all of Mount Olive; four daughters, Lynn B. Sox and husband, Dean, and Janet B. Jackson and husband, Owen, all of Mount Olive, Melissa Kuykendall and husband, Jay, of Tenn., and Michelle Smiley of Rocky Mount; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Marvin Beavers of Garner and Eugene Beavers of Goldsboro.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Creech Beavers; a brother, Elbert Beavers and his parents, Roy Elbert and Mattie Hill Beavers.

Visitation will be at the funeral home immediately following service and at other times at the residence.
